Red Sox Reveal Start Date for Roman Anthony's Rehab Assignment

Boston Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy announced the start dates for three rehab assignments on Saturday. Trevor Story will begin with Triple-A Worcester on Sunday, followed by Roman Anthony on Tuesday in Double-A Portland and Isiah Kiner-Falefa concluding the week in Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday. Tracy expressed optimism about the trio's return, stating that they must complete the rehab assignments, which involve both physical recovery and at-bats.

Story, who underwent surgery for a sports hernia on May 21, has been replaced by other players during the team's 47-32 run. Anthony, 22, has not played since tearing a tendon on May 4 and spent time at their spring training facility in Florida. Kiner-Falefa, 31, has been dealing with a left forearm stress reaction since June 19.

The Red Sox strategically placed Story in Triple-A and Kiner-Falefa in Double-A to avoid overcrowding in a single minor league team. If any of the three players show readiness, the organization may adjust the assignments accordingly.
