#OsunDecides2026: Student group hails Tinubu, congratulates Adeleke on gov poll win

The National Association of University Students (NAUS) has praised President Bola Tinubu for his role in the Osun State governorship election, commending him for showcasing democratic leadership. The student group also congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory, urging him to utilize his mandate to enhance the lives of young people and residents throughout the state.

In a statement, NAUS emphasized that President Tinubu had shown that democratic interests can take precedence over partisan considerations by enabling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to carry out its constitutional duties. The association highlighted Tinubu's public calls for INEC and security agencies to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and credible election.

NAUS also applauded INEC, electoral officials, security agencies, political parties, and candidates who took part in the election, as well as the citizens of Osun State for exercising their democratic rights. The association praised INEC's use of the Result Viewing Portal, which allowed citizens to actively follow the electoral process.

While celebrating Adeleke's victory, NAUS urged him to see the result not only as a political triumph but as a new responsibility to the people of Osun. The association called on Adeleke to prioritize education, youth empowerment, employment opportunities, infrastructure, security, and inclusive development in his term.
