Moscow strikes Ukrainian steel plant as Kyiv targets Russian economy

Overnight, Russia launched a series of airstrikes targeting Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of two individuals at a steel plant in Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of President Volodymyr Zelensky. The attack damaged key production facilities, including those in the power generation and blast furnace sectors, partially halting the plant's operations.

In a separate incident, Kyiv launched a heavy drone attack on the Moscow region, causing a fire in at least two districts and injuring three people, including a child. The Ukrainian military claimed to have shot down 822 Ukrainian drones throughout the country during the latest attacks. Romania's defence ministry reported that an F-18 fighter jet from a NATO air policing mission shot down a Russian drone that breached their airspace, though the drone's origin was not specified.

Wildberries, Russia's largest online retailer, also suffered damage when a warehouse was struck by a Ukrainian drone. Additionally, a missile fuel production facility in Russia's Rostov region was targeted by Ukrainian forces.
