Mara staff member suspended after sexual harassment complaints

Mara chairman Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki has suspended a staff member after allegations of sexual harassment were made against him by at least eight students at an Ipma educational institution. The chairman's decision to suspend the staff member was made to ensure a thorough investigation without any interference from the involved parties.

Dusuki had attempted to persuade the students to report the incident to the police as it constituted a criminal matter. He expressed his curiosity about the students' willingness to complain directly to him rather than to the management of the institution.

Mara has a zero-tolerance policy for any form of misconduct, and the chairman assured that no cases would be covered up or silenced to protect the institution's reputation. He urged anyone who experiences misconduct, particularly sexual harassment, to report it without hesitation. Mara will take stern action, including dismissal, against those found guilty of such misconduct.
