Kerala woman arrested for allegedly duping 51 job seekers with Oman offers

A 59-year-old woman, identified as L.S., has been arrested by Kerala Police for allegedly defrauding 51 job seekers by promising them lucrative employment in Oman. The accused was apprehended at Calicut International Airport upon her return from Muscat. She is alleged to have collected money from the job seekers for visa processing and other expenses.

The investigation, sparked by a complaint from a young man from Arattuthara, near Mananthavady, has identified 51 alleged victims, including 21 people known to the complainant. The accused had allegedly promised jobs at a company preparing to commence operations in Al Ain, Oman, with monthly salaries up to Rs75,000. The complainant reportedly paid Rs65,000 in January 2025, while several others allegedly transferred Rs75,000 each into the accused's bank account.

The police found that the address provided by the accused was fake, as no one by that name had resided there for nearly a decade. The suspect traveled to the Gulf following the filing of complaints, and authorities have issued a lookout notice for her.
