‘If we don’t defeat Savarkar’s ideology, we will suffer like Germans’

Noted Gandhian and theatre person Prasanna warned that if India fails to overcome Savarkar's ideology, the nation will face the same suffering as the Germans. Speaking on "Gandhi in Today’s Crisis Situation" in Bengaluru, he cautioned that clinging to various ideologies like Communist, Lohiaite, Socialist, and Congress would make it impossible to defeat Savarkar's ideology.

Prasanna urged diverse forces to unite in this struggle, emphasizing that political power alone is insufficient to address the cultural crisis. He stressed the importance of Gandhi and Ambedkar's thoughts in the battle against caste discrimination. Prasanna lamented that Ambedkar, who fought for the annihilation of caste, is now being portrayed as a leader who created caste.

CPI(M) State secretary Prakash K. accused the Union government of destroying Gandhi's vision of decentralization and reclaiming powers for the States. He claimed that efforts to centralize Gandhi's concept of decentralization were a plot to turn education into a commodity.
