Hawaii Kai 11u wins Ripken World Series

In a thrilling showdown at the Cal Ripken 11YO World Series in Crown Point, Indiana, Hawaii Kai’s 11u team emerged victorious, clinching the title after winning two games. Tayvien Pa’aga-Ale played a pivotal role in both wins, driving in a team-high three runs and eventually pitching the winning pitch in the final match, which they won 4-0 against Peachtree, Virginia. Earlier, Hawaii Kai had secured a 9-2 victory over South Lexington, Kentucky, advancing to the final with a similar strong performance.

In the semifinal, Ruxin Zukeran was the standout pitcher for Hawaii Kai, leading the team to a 4-0 win over Peachtree. Tyce Yamada added two more runs and two more RBIs across the two games, contributing significantly to the team's success. Throughout the tournament, Hawaii Kai demonstrated dominance, sweeping through with a perfect 7-0 record and outscoring opponents 41-5.

The Rainbow Wahine women's soccer team faced a disappointing loss on Saturday afternoon against Kansas State, falling 3-1 at the UH Lower Campus Field. Despite striking first, the team struggled to maintain their lead, with opponents responding with goals from Gabby DeMers, Anna Pagano, and Allison Marshall. This loss leaves the Rainbow Wahine winless overall (0-2-0) and in the Outrigger Soccer Kickoff.

In another match on Saturday, Seattle and Texas Tech ended in a 0-0 draw. UH will host Western Michigan on Thursday at 4 p.m. as they kick off the Outrigger Invitational.
