Grand Mufti highlights Saudi Arabia’s security and prosperity during meeting of Council of Senior Scholars

In a meeting of the Council of Senior Scholars held in Taif, Saudi Grand Mufti Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan emphasized the Kingdom's security, stability, growth, and prosperity during the 99th session. The council, chaired by Al-Fawzan who is also its president, is led by General Presidency for Scientific Research and Ifta. Al-Fawzan praised the support from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, which has enabled the council to fulfill its scholarly and legal duties.

The kingdom enjoys security, stability, growth, and prosperity, and Saudi Arabia honors are recognized by God, as it serves the Two Holy Mosques and holy sites, allowing Muslims to perform rituals safely. Sheikh Fahd Al-Majed, the council's secretary-general, noted that the session's agenda includes topics referred to the council by the king, government agencies, and the Permanent Committee for Fatwas.

To provide expert insights, the council formed advisory committees with highly qualified specialists, who subsequently submitted their reports. Research papers on the agenda items were prepared by the general secretariat, involving specialists from various disciplines. The council will continue its discussions on the agenda topics, conducting thorough scholarly and legal studies to make its decisions and legal opinions in accordance with its mandate and responsibilities.
