'Former Prime Minister Was Simple And Humble, Yet ‘Atal’ In His Resolve': UP CM Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid respects to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his eighth death anniversary, placing floral tributes at his statue in Lok Bhavan. The Chief Minister highlighted that despite Vajpayee's simple and humble demeanor, he remained "Atal" (resolute) in his principles throughout his six-decade public career.

Yogi Adityanath emphasized that Vajpayee's entire life was dedicated to putting the nation first, whether as an MP, External Affairs Minister, Opposition leader, Janata Party President, or Prime Minister. The Chief Minister recalled Vajpayee's active participation in anti-Emergency protests, his support for the Jana Sangh's merger into the Janata Party, and his steadfast commitment to national security during the 1962, 1965, and 1971 wars.

He also highlighted Vajpayee's leadership in forming the NDA in 1996-98, showcasing how political stability could overcome instability and promote good governance. The Chief Minister paid tribute to Vajpayee's humility, stating that even in his most challenging moments, he remained firm in his resolve. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Agriculture Minister Baldev Singh Aulakh, and others also paid floral tributes to the former Prime Minister's statue.
