Foreign Ministers of Qatar and 7 Arab and Islamic countries condemn Israel's public rejection of roadmap aimed at completing implementation of U.S. President's comprehensive plan to end conflict in Gaza

On August 1, 2023, foreign ministers from Qatar and seven other Arab and Islamic nations strongly condemned Israel's public rejection of the Road Map for completing the implementation of U.S. President Trump's comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza. This stance, which contradicts the endorsement of UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and the Palestinian demand for statehood, effectively discredits the Comprehensive Plan and undermines the collective efforts towards reaching a just and lasting peace.

The Road Map, accepted by Palestinian factions, is seen as a significant milestone for decommissioning weapons, withdrawing Israeli forces, deploying the International Stabilization Force, transferring administrative authority to the National Committee for Gaza, and initiating reconstruction efforts. Rejecting the Road Map is, therefore, a direct refusal to advance the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan, threatening to derail President Trump's efforts to end the war in Gaza and establish conditions for lasting peace.

The ministers emphasized the importance of sustained U.S. engagement to ensure Israel complies fully with the Comprehensive Plan's commitments and arrangements. They also underscored Israel's sole responsibility for any consequences arising from its continued rejection, obstruction, delay, or non-compliance, such as worsening the humanitarian situation in Gaza, compromising security and stability, and hindering reconstruction and progress towards a just and lasting peace based on Palestinian self-determination and statehood in line with international law.

Rejecting the Comprehensive Plan and Palestinian statehood is explicitly rejected, as it negatively impacts regional security and stability. The ministers reaffirmed the Board of Peace's crucial role in supporting the Road Map's implementation and advancing the second phase of President Trump's Comprehensive Plan. They called upon all parties to support the Board's efforts and urged the Board, with U.S. active support, to take immediate and concrete measures to preserve the Comprehensive Plan's integrity and prevent any party from obstructing its implementation.
