Female teachers urged to lead fight for rights and better education

Female teachers were urged to lead the fight for their rights and better educational standards at a state-level conference organized by the Telangana State Women's Teachers' Federation. Retired Telangana High Court Judge, Justice G. Radharani, highlighted the need for constitutional rights to be fully implemented and emphasized the importance of educating students about women's rights.

The judge noted that socio-cultural barriers continue to hinder women's progress despite advancements in technology, and she called for greater understanding of the Constitution and politics. Mariam Dhawale, the national vice-president of the All India Democratic Women’s Association, criticized government policies, arguing that women are facing growing economic and social challenges.

She stressed the value of unpaid domestic labor to the economy and expressed concerns over the impact of NEP 2020 on public education. N. Aruna Kumari, secretary of the School Teachers Federation of India, advocated for a scientific approach to social norms and called for improved facilities for girls and women teachers. Mothukuri Samyuktha, another speaker, encouraged women teachers to actively participate in teachers' movements, drawing inspiration from past struggles that resulted in better wages and service benefits.

The conference drew participants including C. Kamala Kumari, TSUTF leaders Ch. Durga Bhavani, Chava Ravi, and A. Venkat.
