Dominant Arsenal sweep aside Manchester City to lift Community Shield

Premier League champions Arsenal secured a 3-0 victory over Manchester City, lifting the Community Shield in Cardiff on Sunday. Fresh from their first English top-flight title in 22 years, Mikel Arteta's team dominated from start to finish at the Principality Stadium. Enzo Maresca, Pep Guardiola's successor, had a challenging day managing City.

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard praised the team's performance, stating, "We played some brilliant football. Great performance and a great way to start the season." He expressed his desire to score more goals and assist the team further.

The goal came in the 24th second through left back Riccardo Calafiori, set up by Myles Lewis-Skelly's sublime skill. Christos Tzolis, a new signing from Club Brugge, made an impressive debut and provided assists for the subsequent goals. He headed a cross back across goal for Kai Havertz to score from close range in the second minute, and later found Odegaard in the box to score himself.

City had a couple of chances through Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, but they were unable to trouble the well-organized Arsenal defense. Arsenal's victory marked the biggest margin of triumph in a Community Shield game since 2014, when they triumphed by the same scoreline.
