Detmers works 8 innings, Schanuel has RBI single in 8th Angels’ 1-0 win over Royals

Anaheim, Calif. (AP) — In a thrilling 1-0 victory over the Kansas City Royals, the Los Angeles Angels showcased a resilient performance. Starting pitcher Reid Detmers, who went 4-8, showcased his skills by pitching eight innings while striking out 11 batters and allowing only two hits. The Angels' offense, led by Nolan Schanuel, contributed significantly to the win.

Schanuel, who went 3 for 3, secured the win with an RBI single in the eighth inning, bringing home Jose Siri who had stolen second base.
