Dadah ancaman terbesar Melayu, bukan kaum lain, kata Saifuddin

PKR Deputy President Saifuddin Nasution Ismail stated that the greatest threat to Malaysians is not from other ethnic groups, but rather the misuse of drugs within the community. Despite some claiming that the Democratic Action Party (DAP) poses a threat to Malays, Saifuddin emphasized that the real danger comes from drug abuse among the community.

He noted that while some continue to portray DAP as a threat to Malays, the actual threat is the drug addiction among certain groups. The PKR leader stated, "Malays and Muslims are not threatened by other ethnic groups." According to him, Malays are threatened by poverty, as they make up the largest segment of drug users. He made these remarks at the PKR National Convention 2026.

Saifuddin pointed out that government data and the National Narcotics Agency indicate that Perlis, Kedah, and Terengganu record 1,000 cases of drug abuse per 100,000 people. This suggests that the majority of those affected are aged 15 and above, with many having dropped out of school and lacking adequate education and employment opportunities.

"Without addressing this issue and providing employment opportunities for the young, they will become entangled in drugs," Saifuddin warned. The PKR leader criticized the 'zero-sum game' political strategy and urged the public to evaluate the government based on its performance and economic achievements. He asserted that the next step is to develop the economy and combat corruption, rather than fueling inter-ethnic divisions.
