Colts hold 11th 2026 training camp practice, all the highlights are here

At the Colts' 11th training camp practice of 2026, held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 4 p.m. in Westfield, insiders Nathan Brown and Joel A. Erickson provided highlights of the event. The offense struggled during a notable drive, with Daniel Jones seeing a screen blocked by Austin Ajiake, a free play lost by Laquon Treadwell, a Laiatu Latu deflection to Mekhi Blackmon for a pick, and a deep ball intercepted by Camryn Bynum.

Riley Leonard had a successful moment during the second offense, bouncing back from a bobbled snap to throw a big pass to Drew Ogletree and running for 20 yards, while Coleman Owen gained 15 yards, leading to a touchdown by Ulysses Bentley IV. During 7-on-7 drills, rookie tight end Carson Towt, who is making his first organized football appearance after a successful Division I basketball career, caught a contested pass and held his left ankle and foot, spending several minutes on the ground before walking off the field with a Colts medical staff member.

Shane Steichen gave Anthony Richardson a chance in the red zone, with Seth McGowan getting stopped by Cam Taylor-Britt and DeForest Buckner, Richardson being sacked by Laiatu Latu, and a short completion to Coleman Owen ending the situation. Grupe missed his only attempt of the preseason game, a 61-yarder, but made six successful field goals of 28, 33, 41, 45, and 50 yards.

Anthony Richardson had issues with throws, as he was picked off by Jaylon Jones and missed Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, potentially taking a sack on another play, although he ultimately scrambled and ended up with the ball on an end-around, which looked like a fumble by Deion Burks.

Ashton Dulin had difficulty with contested throws, and Justin Walley played outside for the second straight day, with Cam Taylor-Britt in the nickel since Charvarius Ward is out. Players returning to practice included CJ Allen, Derrick Nnadi, Jalen Farmer, Anthony Gould, Charvarius Ward, DJ Giddens, Luke Tenuta, and Nolan Rucci. Schreader struggled with hooking the ball during practice, and his kicking performance had issues, missing kicks to the left from 41 yards and 50 yards.
