Charles Johnson: I learned Scottish twister submission from former Bellator champ

Charles Johnson received a bonus for his submission victory at UFC 330 in Philadelphia, executing a rare Scottish twister against Eduardo Henrique. Johnson, who is more known for his striking, showcased his grappling skills during the fight. The Scottish twister is a variation of the traditional twister that demands precise control over the opponent's waist and torso.

Johnson revealed that he practices the move regularly, stating, "I hit that at least once or twice a week on people in practice, so it’s just about getting there." The move was actually taught to him by former Bellator champion Patrick "Patchy" Mix, who Johnson praised for his coaching, saying, "Patchy Mix actually showed me that move, so I’m gonna give him his flowers, man."

Johnson, with a record of 20-9, has seen a mix of wins and losses in his last seven bouts and has fought four times so far this year. Notably, he holds a knockout win over reigning champion Joshua Van, who will defend his title in the next numbered event.
