'Awarapan 2' crosses Rs 66cr worldwide in 2 days, beats Spider-Man in India

Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2 debuted in theaters on Friday, garnering enthusiastic reviews from audiences. The romantic-action drama showcased a strong box office performance on its second day. According to the Sacnilk report, the Nitin Kakkar-directed film collected Rs 33.75 crore across 10,496 shows in India, marking a significant 53.4% increase from its opening day.

Awarapan 2's cumulative India net collection reached Rs 55.75 crore, while the total India gross collection stood at Rs 66.90 crore. Overseas, the movie earned Rs 3.50 crore on Day 2, bringing its total overseas gross to Rs 6.00 crore, which propelled its worldwide gross collection to Rs 72.90 crore. Awarapan 2 faced competition from Sunny Deol's Batwara 1947 and the Hollywood blockbuster Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which had a smaller number of screens.

Despite this, Spider-Man continued to pose a challenge for the Bollywood film as it entered its third week. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Awarapan 2 stars Emraan Hashmi, Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, and Suvinder Vicky, and is a sequel to the 2007 film Awarapan. The movie premiered in cinemas on August 14, 2026.
