Anthropic Touts 14-Fold Jump in Revenue for Would-Be Investors

Anthropic, the artificial intelligence startup, disclosed a remarkable surge in earnings for investors. According to documents shared with Bloomberg News, the company's revenue for the second quarter jumped by more than 14 times compared to the same period in 2025. The preliminary revenue figure stood at over $11.5 billion, up from $787 million during the same quarter last year.

Positive adjusted operating income was also reported by the company. This growth is occurring amid fierce competition with rival OpenAI for enterprise customers. Anthropic, previously considered an underdog, has experienced a surge in corporate adoption of its products for tasks like coding. The company's annualized revenue/run rate reached $47 billion in May, surpassing OpenAI's annual run rate of over $40 billion.

Sources indicate that investors anticipate Anthropic to aim for a valuation of at least $2 trillion during its October initial public offering, a record-breaking figure. However, challenges remain, such as competition from lower-cost Chinese models, increasing regulatory pressure, and ongoing disputes with the U.S. government. Despite these hurdles, the company's rapid revenue growth has led investors to believe it could justify a valuation more than double its current level, which reached $965 billion in May after new investment.
