PETAJAYA: Police have detained three men following a dispute over unauthorized parking near the OUG Community Hall in Kuala Lumpur. Chief Superintendent Fadil Marsus reported that a woman had filed a complaint alleging that she was beaten and threatened with further violence by one of the suspects before being punched. The suspects are also accused of using a stun gun to cause problems for the woman's workplace.

The three men, aged between 20 and 26, were apprehended by the police. Superintendent Marsus noted that all three had prior criminal records. One suspect was detained for two days until August 18, while the other two were held for one day. The case is being investigated for criminal negligence and intentionally causing injury. He urged the public to report any information to the Brickfields police hotline at 03-22979222, the Kuala Lumpur police at 03-21159999, or any nearby police station.

According to Selangor MP Teresa Kok, the unauthorized parking operator previously ignored Kuala Lumpur City Hall's (DBKL) directive on August 4 to cease operations. DBKL and the Federal Land and Mining Department subsequently imposed enforcement action and shut down the operation. However, Kok stated that the operator returned to the location and was accused of assaulting a Selangor Wisma Member of Parliament during a confrontation.
