3 ditahan susulan pergaduhan berkait parkir haram di KL

Kuala Lumpur Police have detained three men allegedly involved in a series of altercations related to illegal parking near the OUG Community Centre in Jalan Awan Besar, Kuala Lumpur. Fadil Marsus, the Chief of Police, revealed that a woman reported witnessing one of the suspects beating another before being struck on the head and threatened with further violence.

The suspects, aged between 20 and 26, were arrested after police found records of their past criminal offenses. One suspect was held for two days until August 18, while the other two were detained for one day. The case is being investigated for alleged threats and deliberately causing injury. Teresa Kok, a member of Parliament for Seputeh, has urged the public to come forward with any information regarding the suspects.

Kok also noted that the controlling party of the illegal parking operation had violated a directive from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) on August 4 to cease operations. DBKL and the Federal Territory Department of Land and Mines subsequently took enforcement action and shut down the operation. However, Kok stated that the controlling party returned to the location and was accused of assaulting a Member of the Kuala Lumpur Community Council during a disagreement.
