Last Friday, at the closing ceremony of the 79th Roqueñio Film Festival, Hong Sang-soo's directorial debut "No Space for Snow" was awarded as the Director's Award, the second highest honor for the festival. The film was also honored with two other prizes: the Best Actor award for Kim Min-hee and the Ecumenical Jury Award. "No Space for Snow" marked Hong Sang-soo's fifth official invitation to the Roqueñio Film Festival, following his acclaimed works "Our Dear Wife" (2013), "It Is Now and Then It Was Wrong" (2015), "River Hotel" (2018), and "Sujucheon" (2024). All of these invited films went on to win awards at the festival.

This was Kim Min-hee's second Best Actress award, following her role in "It Is Now and Then It Was Wrong." The film also secured a second Best Actress award for Kim Min-hee, following her performance in "Sujucheon." The festival's jury praised the film for its profound exploration of human life, dignity, social values, peace, and human rights, as well as its spiritual message, which was awarded by an independent jury comprising judges from the Swiss Reformed Church and the Catholic Church.

The cast of "No Space for Snow" included Kim Min-hee, alongside Hong Sang-soo's previous collaborators, actors Won Ha-joon, Kyung Hyuk, and Park Mi-so. Actor Choi Min-gil made his debut collaboration with Hong Sang-soo, playing the role of the mother, a character played by Kim Min-hee's mother in her last appearance before their separation.

The film's director-actor Kim Min-hee received special mention for her return to the stage after giving birth. At the award ceremony, she expressed her gratitude to her father and thanked her co-director, Hong Sang-soo, for creating such a beautiful film.
