‘150 stitches’: Harsimrat demands NIA probe into Sukhbir Badal attack, writes to Amit Shah

Sukhbir Badal's wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal has demanded an investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into her husband's recent attack. The Sikh leader was stabbed during a gurdwara visit in Nanded, Maharashtra, requiring at least 150 stitches on each side of his right arm. Harsimrat displayed photos of her husband's injuries and the weapon used in the assault during a Punjab Bachao rally in Ferozepur's Guru Har Sahai.

She wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging the attack was an assassination bid and calling it a heinous act. Harsimrat highlighted a previous attack on December 4, 2024, at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, where an armed man fired at Sukhbir while he was performing seva. She alleged a political conspiracy involving the AAP government in Punjab and questioned the handling of the subsequent investigations by local police officers and the state government.
