USS Abraham Lincoln’s ‘grueling deployment’: Trump says it was ‘not nearly long enough’

Despite reports of low morale, shortages of supplies and sanitation issues among sailors and their families, Trump maintained that the deployment had been sufficient. CNN noted numerous complaints from sailors, including problems with water and sanitation systems, limited food and hygiene resources, and a growing sense of frustration among the crew.

Families of service members also expressed concern over the conditions, with some reporting that their loved ones had become more irritable and mentally strained. The Navy responded by disputing these claims, stating that there were no significant changes in mental health incidents or conditions aboard the carrier. Acting Navy Secretary Hung Cao affirmed that the Lincoln would return home soon, and that the replacement was a long-planned rotation.

Trump further emphasized his support for the sailors, stating he had the utmost respect for them and that the ship would be replaced shortly.
