Ukraine summarizes damages inflicted on Russia due to war – Budanov

Kyrylo Budanov, Head of Ukraine's President's Office, has revealed that the International Register of Damages for Ukraine (RD4U) is now accepting applications under new categories. These categories include state humanitarian expenditures to support the affected population, demining efforts, and expenses related to clearing unexploded ordnance. This move, announced on Facebook, is aimed at ensuring Russia bears the full cost of the damages inflicted upon Ukraine during the ongoing war.

Budanov maintains that every crime committed by Russia and every hryvnia spent on overcoming the aftermath of aggression must be compensated. He emphasizes that the creation of international mechanisms for recording these losses removes the enemy's opportunity to evade accountability for their actions.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukrainian state and local authorities have invested substantial resources into evacuating civilians, providing temporary housing, emergency medical care, rehabilitation, and compensation for destroyed homes. Additionally, significant financial outlays have been required for clearing mined areas contaminated by military action.

The RD4U's new categories reflect the comprehensive nature of Ukraine's losses and the determination to pursue justice for the aggression inflicted upon the nation.
