UAE-India: A generational partnership for a shared future

On the 80th Independence Day of India, the UAE has expressed its gratitude to the Indian community and their government for their continued support. This partnership has evolved into a dynamic strategic collaboration between two nations. India is a rapidly growing economy, driven by strong fundamentals, modern infrastructure, and a focus on digital transformation. The UAE, in turn, offers a gateway to markets across the Middle East, Africa, and Eurasia.

India's leadership has emphasized the importance of this relationship, with recent high-level visits from President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Economic integration between India and the UAE has reached new heights, with bilateral trade reaching $100 billion in 2025-26 and a target to double this figure to $200 billion by 2032. The UAE has committed $5 billion in investments into India, and discussions are ongoing about potential participation in India's Dholera Special Investment Region.

Strategic collaboration extends to energy security, defense, and maritime sectors. The UAE will join India's Strategic Petroleum Reserves through a partnership, and there is a proposed maritime skill development center in Gujarat. These developments highlight the deepening economic and strategic partnership between India and the UAE.
