To save Malaysia, DAP must resign

The headline "To save Malaysia, DAP must resign" may seem unexpected given my personal support for the Democratic Action Party (DAP). Nonetheless, I believe the political landscape in Malaysia demands this bold step. Politics, as we know, operates under its own unique set of rules and logic.

DAP must step down from its current government positions. This move could garner goodwill for the party from those who have grown disillusioned. Many DAP supporters argue that the party has been giving the Prime Minister excessive leeway. While I respectfully disagree with this viewpoint, I acknowledge the concerns of these supporters, who will also be influential in the upcoming elections.

By resigning, DAP could inspire sceptics to vote. Additionally, this move could compel the Prime Minister to implement much-needed reforms, which are crucial to regaining public trust. It's a tough pill to swallow, but sometimes drastic measures are necessary.

Furthermore, DAP's absence from the government would eliminate PAS's bogeyman and give PAS less ammunition to claim that DAP was controlling the government with the sole aim of destroying Malays and Islam. With DAP gone, Anwar could appoint Malay MPs to the Cabinet, thereby countering PAS's push for a Malay-dominated Cabinet.

This move could also undermine PAS and Umno's narratives of a "Rumah Bangsa" and Malay-Muslim narratives. In doing so, we could potentially force PAS and Umno to dance to the PH's tune. Ultimately, this unconventional strategy could help PH secure a majority to form the next government. It's an unconventional tactic, but the end goal - a stronger Malaysia - might justify such means.
