Three-time MVP Aaron Judge plays catch for first time in rehab from broken rib, return date unclear

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge took part in catch practice on Friday as he continues his rehabilitation from a broken right rib. Manager Aaron Boone described the session as part of Judge's progression toward returning to baseball activity. Aaron Judge, a three-time AL MVP and eight-time All-Star, has not played since May 31 but has expressed his intention to return this season. He was cleared to begin light workout activity on August 5, and Boone observed that the slugger responded positively to throwing for the first time in his rehab. However, Boone remains unsure about when Judge might be ready to rejoin the Yankees, stating that they are in the early stages of his baseball activity.

Currently, Aaron Judge is batting .248 with 17 home runs, 38 RBIs, and a .907 OPS. His performance dipped significantly in his final 18 games before going on the injured list. The Yankees are closely monitoring Judge's progress and remain optimistic about his return.
