There are plans to declare Osun election inconclusive – Adeleke Campaign

The Campaign Council of Governor Ademola Adeleke has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of planning to declare the ongoing Osun governorship election inconclusive. In a statement, Rep. Bamidele Salam, Chairman of The Imole Campaign Council, warned observers to remain vigilant. The governor's team stated that INEC's move aims to hinder the imminent victory of Sen Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, a member of the Accord.

The alleged plan, coordinated by several governors and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is described as a last-ditch effort to undermine the candidate's win and defy the decision of Osun electorate. The Campaign Council strongly condemns this undemocratic action and reminds INEC, the APC, and security agencies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's directive to ensure the election remains free, fair, and credible.

They also urge security agencies to provide adequate protection at collation centers to prevent any subversion of the electoral process by APC-hired thugs. The Campaign Council highlights recent instances of ballot boxes being hijacked by these individuals and demands that the perpetrators be arrested. They urge local and international observers to take note of this information and stand with the law and people of Osun State.
