Osun Decides: Adeleke calls on President Tinubu to intervene over alleged security withdrawal from collation, polling units

The Independent National Electoral Commission has commenced the collation and announcement of results for the Osun State governorship election that took place on Saturday. This process follows the conclusion of voting across the state's 30 local government areas. Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, the Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Oye Ekiti, serves as the State Returning Officer.

The collation process began with Boluwaduro Local Government Area, where Prof. Sola Omotola of the All Progressives Congress received 7,118 votes, while the APC candidate secured 7,050 votes and the ADC candidate garnered 179 votes. A total of 14,478 valid votes were cast, with 14,655 votes cast overall.

The process continued with other local governments, including Ede South, Ife North, and Ilesa West, reporting varying totals of votes cast and valid votes. For instance, Ede South's Raji Oluwakemi reported 34,011 accredited voters and 33,210 total votes cast, resulting in 33,210 valid votes. Similarly, Ilesa West's Babatunde Omotoso recorded 31,234 votes cast, with 30,244 valid votes.

The collation process has been ongoing for all local governments, with each reporting a unique combination of accredited voters, total votes cast, and valid votes. The final results indicate a total of 49,017 votes cast statewide, with 47,519 valid votes.
