The Bar and Bench walk with you: CJI to youth in I-Day message, a day after Bar Council overreach

In his Independence Day address at the Supreme Court on Saturday, Chief Justice of India Surya Kant praised the younger generation of law graduates and lawyers for their remarkable resilience, awareness of social realities, and adept use of technology. Kant reminded young lawyers that the responsibility carried by the Bar since the days of the freedom struggle will soon fall on their shoulders, as they are now tasked with protecting and continuing the institutions of justice built by their predecessors.

Kant affirmed that the Bar and the Bench will remain committed to their growth, offering mentorship, creating opportunities, and expressing confidence in their abilities. Kant also noted the challenges faced by young lawyers today, which are more daunting than those encountered by earlier generations. Despite the increased competitiveness and steep learning curve, Kant observed a remarkable resilience, sharp intellect, and genuine commitment to justice in the younger law graduates.
