Teacher in student, mother assault probe released on police bail

PASIR MAS: A 54-year-old teacher was released on police bail following allegations of assaulting a 14-year-old student and his mother, according to police sources. The teacher was initially arrested on Wednesday after the student's 42-year-old mother filed a police report regarding the alleged incident. The woman claimed her son was struck on the head with a cane at a secondary school on August 11.

She later visited the teacher to discuss the matter and alleged that he struck her with a cane on her right thigh on August 12. Police obtained a three-day remand order against the teacher from August 13 to August 15 based on the report. The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code, which deals with voluntarily causing hurt by means of a weapon or other dangerous means.
