Summit launched to connect Asia s quantum tech hubs

The Vietnam-Asia Quantum Summit has launched to forge connections between Vietnam's quantum technology centers and those across Asia and the globe. The summit, featuring policy discussions, investment opportunities, business networking, technology showcases, and talent development, seeks to establish a collaborative platform. Quantum technology is transitioning from a research focus to practical applications, becoming a strategic technology with the potential to transform sectors such as AI, cybersecurity, finance, energy, healthcare, and more.

Identifying quantum technology as a national strategic priority, Vietnam aims to translate this vision into actionable cooperation programs through the summit. Deputy Director Vo Xuan Hoai of the National Institute of Statistics highlighted the urgency for Vietnam to actively engage in quantum technology while the global landscape is still developing.

To strengthen Vietnam's quantum capabilities, experts emphasized the need to connect the country's youthful workforce with international institutions and businesses, enhancing human resources and research prospects. Meanwhile, China's senior quantum expert stressed the importance of regional cooperation in research, talent development, and technology applications to unlock new possibilities for the Asia-Pacific region.

The Vietnam-Asia Quantum Summit aims to position Vietnam as a vital bridge between Asia and the world, facilitating the integration of Vietnamese talent, research, businesses, and challenges into the global quantum network. As the national leader in innovation, the National Institute of Statistics is working to connect domestic and international resources to foster Vietnam's quantum technology ecosystem.

The summit's November program will concentrate on policy dialogue, research and applications, talent development, international collaboration, business and investment networking, and technology demonstrations. Quantum technology is being harnessed for practical applications in AI, cybersecurity, finance, logistics, energy, and healthcare, positioning quantum technology as a highly competitive global field with potential to drive sustainable development.
