Selepas TH, kerajaan akan bongkar isu Felda, kata Anwar

Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim has assured that the government will not compromise with those who violate regulations or seize the people's wealth. Addressing the issue of Felda after handling the scandal involving the Zakat Fund (TH), Anwar stressed that this matter will continue beyond the TH issue. The Agong informed him recently, urging him not to stop there.

The Agong asked who is guarding Felda now? The Prime Minister replied that he will. The era of TH is over, and it's time to expose Felda, he added, serving as the president of PKR during the 2026 National Congress in the Multi-National Trade Centre in Melaka. Firmly, the government will not compromise with those who violate regulations or seize the people's wealth and strong action is needed against those involved in the scandal.

During the PRN Negeri Sembilan campaign last month, Anwar revealed that the government is forced to pay RM980 million annually as compensation for the losses incurred by Felda. According to him, Felda under previous management reported profits of up to RM1 billion and was a source of pride for Malaysia as the agency owned and managed the world's largest plantation.

Meanwhile, on August 7, Anwar directed Felda to bring forward a comprehensive report regarding plans to sell a hotel owned by the agency, which is allegedly being sold for a far lower price than its original purchase price. The hotel is proposed for sale for £100 million (RM550 million), while it was bought by the previous management for £160 million.

Anwar expressed his disappointment over the proposed sale, which would cause further losses, especially considering that Felda is still facing numerous challenges and needs government assistance to improve its infrastructure.
