Selepas TH, kerajaan akan bongkar isu Felda, kata Anwar

Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim has firmly stated that the government will not compromise with those who violate rules or seize the people's wealth. The implications of this statement were made clear when he emphasized to Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, during their recent meeting that the matter concerning the Felda institution should not be left at the discretion of the Supreme Head.

The Agong had previously informed Anwar that the issue would not end with the Supreme Head alone. The Agong's question about who is now safeguarding Felda prompted Anwar's response, concluding that the government will take immediate action against those involved in the alleged misconduct. During the PRN Negeri Sembilan campaign last month, Anwar revealed that the government is forced to pay RM980 million annually to compensate for the losses incurred by Felda.

He asserted that Felda, under the previous management, reported profits of up to RM1 billion and was a source of national pride due to the extensive farmland it owned and managed. Anwar also expressed his disappointment with the proposed sale of one of the agency's hotels, valued at £100 million (RM550 million), which was allegedly offered at a significantly lower price than its original purchase price of £160 million.

He voiced his concern over the potential loss, especially considering that Felda is still facing numerous challenges and requires government assistance to improve its infrastructure.
