Saudi Arabia sees 89% improvement in online gaming response times

Saudi Arabia's fifth Internet report highlights an impressive 89% increase in response times for popular online games, signaling an enhancement in nationwide service quality. The Communications, Space and Technology Commission released the report, which showed significant improvements in response times for leading games. For instance, Teamfight Tactics and League of Legends experienced response times of just 11 milliseconds, while Mobile Legends achieved a response time of 12 milliseconds.

The report also noted that smartphones were the primary gaming platform, accounting for 22.1% of usage, with PlayStation following closely at 21.8%. In terms of gaming frequency, weekly play was the most common at 32.1%, with intermittent play at 31%, and daily play at 29.2%. The report also touched on the Internet of Things (IoT), reporting 13.85 million subscriptions, with NB-IoT coverage extending to nearly 99% of the urban population, backed by over 30,000 towers.

Household IoT adoption was at 18%. These figures indicate Saudi Arabia's digital infrastructure is well-equipped to handle the surge in internet usage, including online gaming and device-to-device applications. The Kingdom also topped the International Telecommunication Union's 2025 Digital Readiness Index, further solidifying its standing in the digital economy and innovation, all of which aligns with Saudi Vision 2030.
