QatarDebate Center wraps up Summer Debate Camp in Arabic

QatarDebate Center wrapped up its Summer Debate Camp in Arabic, concluding a successful four-day training program for children aged 10 to 13 at their headquarters in Education City. The camp, held entirely in Arabic, aimed to introduce participants to the basics of debating, including thought-structuring skills, argument-building, and clear expression of ideas.

The final day of the camp concluded with an educational film screening and subsequent discussion, followed by a mini closing tournament consisting of three rounds. This allowed the young participants to apply the skills they had learned in a competitive setting tailored to their age group.

Coached by QatarDebate Center graduate Farah Al Harbi, the program was supported by six members of the Al Adaam debate team and university debaters, who conducted daily assessments and offered guidance. Coach Al Harbi noted significant improvements in the students' engagement and ability to articulate their thoughts, with these developments evident in group discussions and activities.

Assistant coach Mohammed Al Emadi expressed satisfaction in transferring his knowledge to the next generation of debaters, acknowledging his own past as a QatarDebate Center graduate before returning as a coach. The Arabic summer camp complements the Center's English edition held in July, as part of their ongoing initiative to develop debating skills in both Arabic and English among young people.
