Police foil bandits’ attack, rescue kidnap victims in Katsina

In a recent incident in Katsina State, the local police managed to thwart an attack by suspected bandits and rescue several kidnapped individuals. The Musawa Police Division received an urgent call on August 13, 2026, around 11:30 AM, reporting that a group of armed bandits had launched a ferocious assault on Fulalawa village within Musawa Local Government Area.

Upon receiving the distress call, the police quickly mobilized a joint security team to the scene. As the bandits stormed local shops, they managed to kidnap several residents and seized two motorcycles in the process. The police spokesman, Abubakar Aliyu, disclosed that when the joint team arrived, the bandits fired their weapons at the approaching force.

In response, the police team utilized superior tactics and firepower to force the attackers to abandon their captives and flee into the surrounding bushes with suspected gunshot injuries. Aliyu reported that all kidnapped victims were rescued unharmed and subsequently reunited with their families. Additionally, the police recovered two operational motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing bandits at the scene. The authorities are actively pursuing the escaped suspects in order to bring them to justice.
