Onam cycle rally to be held in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday

The Tourism Department in Thiruvananthapuram is organizing a series of events to build anticipation for the annual Onam festival, which spans ten days. Ahead of the festivities, a Cycle Rally will take place on Sunday, serving as a precursor to the Onam Tourism Week Celebrations. Around 100 cyclists are expected to participate in the event, which will commence at 7 am from Manaveeyam Veedhi.

Participants are required to arrive at the starting point by 6.30 am with their bicycles. The route will traverse key landmarks including the Museum, Palayam, and Statue, before concluding at Gandhi Park in East Fort. The cyclists have been recruited through various organizations such as the Kerala State Sports Council, SAI, Trivandrum Bikers Club, and Indus Cycling Embassy.

The rally is backed by several entities including the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation, District Tourism Promotion Council, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, FIT India, and She Cycling. The Onam Tourism Week Celebrations are scheduled to run from August 24 to 30, with a grand finale procession on the last day.
