NPP elects regional executives today

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is currently conducting regional executive elections on Saturday, August 15, 2026, as part of its strategy to reorganize and bolster its structures ahead of the 2028 general elections. Delegates from across the nation are participating in the poll to select regional executives who will be responsible for overseeing party activities and coordinating operations at the regional level.

This is one of several internal elections that the NPP has initiated, beginning with polling station and constituency contests.

To ensure a transparent and credible election process, the party has sent national representatives to monitor the elections in each region and enforce approved electoral guidelines. These representatives are tasked with promoting transparency and fairness throughout the voting process, submitting reports on the elections, and documenting any irregularities that may arise.

The party has also instructed its Regional Executive Elections Committees to administer the elections professionally and maintain discipline at all voting centers.

Several candidates are vying for key regional positions, such as Regional Chairman, First and Second Vice Chairpersons, Secretary, Treasurer, Organiser, Women’s Organiser, Youth Organiser, Communications Officer, and Nasara Coordinator. The elections have garnered attention as the NPP strives to rebuild and strengthen its grassroots structures following the 2024 general elections, with the ultimate goal of positioning itself for success in the 2028 polls.

Final results from the regional contests are expected to be announced once voting and ballot collation are complete.
