Mora ‘sad and suffering’ as Roma wait for FC Porto €50m all clear

Rodrigo Mora’s lawyer has expressed his concerns over the player’s emotional state, stating that the young athlete is “sad and suffering” due to Roma’s delay in receiving an official all clear from FC Porto. The football star’s desire to play is clear, as he understands that he is currently the third choice for Francesco Farioli at Roma.

Negotiations between the clubs appeared to reach an agreement on Tuesday evening, with the deal set to be €7-10m for a loan with an option to buy for an additional €40-43m at the end of the season. However, the negotiations have since stalled as both clubs have differing opinions on the conditions that should activate this clause.

FC Porto is insisting that the clause be tied to European qualification, while Roma prefers to have it contingent on Champions League entry or even winning the Scudetto. These conflicting demands have left the negotiations at a standstill for days, with no sign of progress. The player’s lawyer, Luis Miguel Henrique, emphasized in an interview that Mora is not part of Farioli’s plans, and this poses a significant problem for the young player who is still growing and developing.

"Football is not just a profession for him, but also his life and his joy," Henrique explained. "The Rodrigo I saw was sad and suffering. He wants to fight for his place, but he also wants to play." There were murmurs of Galatasaray re-entering the race for Rodrigo Mora, but it seems the 18-19-year-old is eager to join Roma.
