Meet the newly elected NPP Women’s Organiser for Oti Region

Olivia Yawa Aglago has been elected as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Women’s Organiser for the Oti Region. In her inaugural address, Ms Aglago urged party members to maintain unity and concentrate on achieving victory in the 2028 general elections. She emphasized that unity and collective effort would be vital in bolstering the NPP’s influence throughout the region.

Ms Aglago expressed confidence in her new executive team, stating their dedication to restoring trust in the party and making it more appealing to potential supporters. She highlighted that the primary objective at the moment is to enhance grassroots mobilisation, enhance interaction with party members, and foster an inclusive atmosphere that encourages increased involvement, especially from women and young individuals.

Ms Aglago emerged victorious, garnering 152 votes out of the 216 cast. Her predecessor and rival, Alice Mensah, received 60 votes. Ms Aglago thanked the delegates for their confidence in her appointment and appealed to all party members, including those who supported her opponent, to rally behind the newly elected leadership. She stressed that unity would be instrumental in maintaining the party’s momentum and ensuring the NPP’s competitiveness in the Oti Region ahead of the 2028 elections.
