Man stabs parents to death in Kerala’s Idukki

A 26-year-old man from Idukki, Kerala, has been arrested for the brutal murder of his parents. The accused, identified as Ajeesh, resided near the town of Nedumkandam. According to reports, Ajeesh had a dispute with his parents, which escalated into a deadly confrontation. He allegedly stabbed his father, Paratharayil Antony, 59, and his mother, Valsamma, 55, to death.

The incident unfolded around 9:30 p.m. on Friday. The crime was discovered when Ajeesh sent a video of the brutal act to a former priest of the Ezhukumvayal parish. The priest then alerted the current parish priest, who in turn informed the police and local residents. Police swiftly arrived at the scene and apprehended Ajeesh. During the arrest, Ajeesh had been seen praying in front of his home, stating that he had "sent his parents to God," adding that "God did not demand" his grandmother be sent as well.

The authorities suspect that Ajeesh's recent admission to a de-addiction center and his parents' decision to send him there could have been the catalyst for the horrific crime. Following a post-mortem examination, the bodies of Antony and Valsamma were transported to a private mortuary in Kattappana. The couple's eldest son, Nithin, who is abroad, will attend the funeral.
