Makafui Kofi Woanyah retains NPP Volta Regional chairmanship

Makafui Kofi Woanyah has once again been elected as the Volta Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). This decision came after a fierce contest with Joseph Wallace Homenya. According to provisional results, Woanyah managed to edge out Homenya by a margin of 21 votes. The election saw a significant involvement of the party members, with supporters of Woanyah praising his efforts in fortifying the party's structures and enhancing electoral activities in the Volta Region.

Homenya, on the other hand, had the support of those who felt a change in leadership was needed to revitalize the party and enhance its appeal to voters. They argued that a new leader could help unify the party, strengthen its grassroots structures, and draw in new members in preparation for future elections. Woanyah's re-election provides him with another term to steer the NPP in the Volta Region as the party persists in its internal reorganization and endeavors to bolster its electoral performance leading up to the 2028 general elections.
