Liverpool planning to open contract talks with first-team regular who’s keen to work with Iraola

Liverpool is reportedly set to initiate contract discussions with first-team stalwart Alexis Mac Allister, who is eager to continue his association with the club under new head coach Andoni Iraola. The Argentine midfielder, who has two years left on his current contract, is considered a crucial component in Liverpool's long-term strategy, valued at €100m (£85.5m) by the club.

Reports suggest that Mac Allister is keen on working with Iraola, who recently took the helm at Anfield. Despite recent interest from Manchester City and Chelsea, Mac Allister's father and agent, Carlos, is confident that the 2022 World Cup winner will remain with the club. With interest from direct Premier League rivals also swirling, Iraola does not want the player to leave during the start of the new season.
