Leopard skins seized, top Delhi wildlife NGO accused of nexus with poachers

Delhi-based wildlife NGO Wildlife SOS is under scrutiny for its alleged nexus with poachers, following the seizure of leopard skins and ivory in Madhya Pradesh. According to investigators, the NGO's CEO Kartick Satyanarayan is accused of organizing poaching operations and staging seizures to bolster his organization's anti-poaching profile.

Two key accused, Bhagwan Singh and Wasim, who were on the NGO's payroll, have been arrested and are now required to appear before an investigating officer. Wildlife SOS has not responded to requests for comment. The investigation has uncovered multiple sites with buried leopard remains and recovered leg-hold traps, leading to the arrests of the prime accused and Wasim.

The organization was reportedly involved in poaching leopards in the Shivpuri area, distributing leg-hold traps to local hunters, and arranging for poachers to deliver the skins to a decoy buyer. This case has reignited concerns about Wildlife SOS's aggressive fundraising efforts and its involvement in past poaching scandals.
