Lebanese president condemns ongoing Israeli attacks in south

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has strongly denounced ongoing Israeli attacks in the southern regions of the country, accusing the strikes of violating agreements and international laws meant to protect civilians. In a statement released through the Lebanese presidency's official X account, Aoun emphasized that these actions have resulted in the death of an entire family from the town of Ansar.

According to the Ministry of Health, nine individuals were killed and numerous others injured in the Israeli airstrikes targeting the towns of Ansar and Deir Al-Zahrani. These strikes followed overnight Israeli military raids in southern Lebanon, which the president claimed were retaliatory for a serious breach of the framework agreement by Hezbollah following its attack on Israeli forces in the security zone.

Despite signing the framework agreement in Washington nearly seven weeks ago, the Israeli military has continued to escalate operations in southern Lebanon, conducting explosions and airstrikes across towns in the western and central sectors, with military activity ongoing on three fronts.
