‘I’m not coming as a lord’ – Okoe Boye on NPP Greater Accra chairmanship

Dr Bernard Okoe Boye, the aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) Greater Accra Regional Chairman, has firmly stated that he is not entering the race for the position with an attitude of resistance towards opposing viewpoints. He attributes the claims to his detractors, who are struggling to refute his qualifications and suitability for the role.

Addressing journalists at the ongoing NPP Greater Accra Regional elections at the WAEC Hall in Tema West, Dr Boye emphasized that his approach to leadership would focus on engaging constituency executives and incorporating their input into decision-making. He described himself as a 'Chief Servant' rather than a lord, pledging to actively listen to the needs of constituency executives and work collaboratively to find solutions to their challenges.

Dr Boye acknowledged that such leadership style criticisms often arise when opponents cannot critique a candidate's competence or vision. He highlighted the need to move away from traditional top-down leadership models and embrace a more service-oriented, collaborative approach. Dr Okoe Boye assured that prioritizing the concerns of constituency executives would be central to his leadership, aiming to foster a more united and effective NPP in the Greater Accra Region.
