I’m not against Enyimba Economic City project — Otti

Abia State Governor Alex Otti has clarified his stance on the Enyimba Economic City project, stating that he is not against the development, but insists on transparency and proper execution of the project's processes. Speaking to members of the reconstituted Board of the Enyimba Economic City Development Company, Otti emphasized his administration's pro-business attitude and commitment to supporting investments that comply with due process and protect the state's interests.

He mentioned that concerns over the land acquisition process and the lack of relevant documentation prompted his administration to revoke the entire Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) for the 1,000 hectares they retained for the Abia Industrial and Innovation Park. Otti also expressed disappointment over the perceived lack of compensation to original landowners and the ongoing legal disputes, urging the company to pay the rightful compensation and reach appropriate agreements with affected communities.

He reiterated his support for genuine investments, provided they are carried out with transparency, fairness, and accountability.
