Ignatius Kwesi Afrifa elected NPP Western Regional Chairman

Ignatius Kwesi Afrifa has been elected as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Western Regional Chairman following a successful regional executive election. The vote count revealed that Afrifa secured 265 votes, surpassing his rival Abdul Ganiyu Mohammed, who garnered 102 votes, with one ballot being invalid. This election took place in Agona-Nkwanta, Ahanta West constituency, as part of the nationwide NPP effort to elect regional leaders who will oversee the reorganization and preparations for the 2028 general elections.

Following the election, Ignatius Afrifa was crowned First Vice Chairman with a significant tally of 205 votes. Francis Abeku Yankah claimed the position of Second Vice Chairman with 193 votes. Kwasi Bonzoh was appointed Secretary, gaining 211 votes, while Lawrence Takyi was elected Deputy Secretary with 157 votes. Amoabeng Acheampong was selected as the Organiser, achieving 181 votes, and Emmanuel Acquah Mensah was appointed Communications Director with 212 votes.

The Youth Organiser position was filled by Osagyefo Attiah Kwaw, who received 197 votes, and Augustina Nketiah secured the Women’s Organiser role with 193 votes. In the Treasurer position, Nana Adwoa Appiah emerged victorious with 262 votes. Adam Harun Ahmed was also elected Nasara Organiser, scoring 190 votes. With these results, the newly elected executives are poised to lead the NPP’s organizational efforts in the Western Region, as the party strives to bolster its structures and rejuvenate its electoral performance in anticipation of the upcoming 2028 general elections.
