Iddrisu Sulemana edges Clifford Braimah to become NPP Savannah Regional Chairman

Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana has emerged as the new Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Savannah Region, defeating his rival Clifford Abdallah Braimah by just four votes. The election marked a decisive moment for the NPP, as Sulemana was poised to spearhead the party's reorganisation and mobilisation efforts in the region ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Braimah, who served as the former Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited, conceded defeat gracefully, acknowledging Sulemana's victory. Aboagye Kwame was elected First Vice Chairman with a commanding lead of 70 votes over his opponent Alhaji Braimah Adam. Johnson Kwame Gyinde secured the position of Second Vice Chairman, while Seidu Ayuba was chosen as the Secretary, narrowly edging out Mohammed Issah by a margin of two votes.

The treasurer role went to Ali Abubakar, who outpaced Raphael Mahama Akati by 32 votes. The Women's Organiser position was won by Mohammed Fatahia, with support from 91 voters. Meanwhile, the Communications Officer, Nasara Organiser, and Youth Organiser positions were awarded to Mohammed Shiraz-Deen, Alpha Omar Yakubu, and Adam Mohammed Mansuru, respectively.

The newly elected officials are expected to work diligently to reinvigorate the NPP's grassroots efforts and bolster its electoral performance as the party prepares for the upcoming 2028 elections.
